Scramble Intersections
At a scramble intersection, vehicles are stopped in all directions at once so pedestrians can cross any way they like, including diagonally. In the next sequence, pedestrians are stopped in all directions at once so cars can travel freely.
Scramble intersections pose a problem for vision-impaired pedestrians who rely on traffic to maintain alignment. The Accessible Pedestrian Signal Advisory Group will be meeting to discuss safety issues and solutions. More information will be posted on our Community News and Events page as it emerges.
