The first step is an assessment. The assessment helps both you and BALANCE decide if the program is suitable for you, and if we can meet your needs.
How do you apply?
Please fill out either the Employment Services Application or the General Services Application.
If you require assistance, please contact
The Office Administrator (416) 236-1796 extension 0
The Program Co-ordinator (416) 236-1796 extension 24 or
email us at info@balancefba.org
What are the next steps?
Once your application has been received, the Program Coordinator will contact you to arrange an intake meeting.
At the meeting, we discuss your learning priorities and set preliminary goals. We also go over the BALANCE Service Agreement. This agreement is a contract between BALANCE and its program participants. It outlines what is expected from BALANCE and what is expected from you.
After being accepted into the program, there may be a short wait depending on the availability of instructors. Instructors will be assigned to you as soon as they are available. At that point, you work together to set up a schedule. Your program can begin at any time during the year.
“The application process overwhelmed me at first. I didn't think I could handle filling out forms or being interviewed by strangers. Finally, I took the plunge and sat down with the BALANCE intake worker. In a half hour I knew this was an organization that could hear my fears and guide me through the first unnerving steps. Right from the start I felt supported and able to focus on my needs and not my anxiety.” - Alex
