Have you ever wanted to throw your phone at the wall because it just won't cooperate? Technology can be frustrating, especially when living with partial sight or blindness. It can also be empowering, build a sense of accomplishment and independence. The question is, how do we get from frustration to empowerment?
Join us for an open discussion on how technology can support mental well-being, increase social connection, and build confidence while also building strategies to deal with the challenges that come with technology.
Co Facilitated by Windy Ho-Li, Low Vision Assistive Technology instructor, and Lisa Derencinovic, Social Worker, this reflective workshop will discuss the emotional and psychological experiences connected to learning and using Assistive Technology.
Details:
- When: Wednesday July 15th 1:30 PM – 3:00 PM
- Where: Zoom
Together we will discuss:
- the relationship between technology, mental health, and well-being
- how technology can reduce isolation, increase social connection, and build community
- common fears and anxieties related to assistive technology and adapting to vision loss
