How to Use This Calendar

You can view this calendar in Grid or List format.

Grid view

Activities appear in a calendar layout by date. Open an event item to view more information and the registration link. If you use JAWS or NVDA, press Enter or use the right-click menu to access those details.

List view

Activities appear in a list, with the title, date, time, and description shown together. Because List view shows one date at a time, check the description to see whether an activity is a single event or part of a series or longer program.

Life Hacking Sight Loss: Adapting to Change through Daily Living Skills

August 19, 2026

Details:

  • Date: Wednesday, August 19
  • Time: 1:30 PM - 3:00 PM
  • Where: Zoom

Change is something that most people struggle to deal with, it isn’t comfortable or easy. Living with partial sight or blindness can create a lot of change in a person’s life and it might feel like all there is is uncertainty. Adaptive Daily living skills can be a way to not only increase your skills to use home appliances, clean your space and stay organized, it can be a way to manage change and create resiliency in the face of uncertainty.

Join Greg Pickios, Adaptive Daily Living Skills Instructor, and Lisa Derencinovic, Social Worker for an informative webinar on how to reduce stress by becoming more comfortable in your own home and daily routine.

Together we will discuss:

  • practical strategies for managing appliances, cleaning and organizing
  • why change is stressful and how to use that stress to our advantage
  • how ADLS can impact your sense of identity and acceptance
  • building your own tool kit

If you are new to Zoom and would like Zoom to call you please request the call out feature when registering for the workshop.  Email us at info@balancefba.org or call 416-236-1796 ext. 0.
