"Imagine That!": An Improv Session With Chris James (Winter Session)

"Imagine That!": An Improv Session With Chris James (Winter Session)

February 3, 2026

BALANCE is excited to offer another Winter session opening of “Imagine That!”, a four-week improv workshop led by acclaimed actor, educator, and self-defense instructor Chris James.

Chris James is a professional actor and educator with over 20 years of experience in theatre, television, film, and voice performance. Trained through The Second City’s IFA track, he brings a unique blend of artistry and teaching expertise to every workshop. With a background in movement, dance, and stage combat, Chris helps participants connect body, voice, and imagination in dynamic ways. His workshops are known for being both playful and practical—building confidence, creativity, and collaboration skills that extend far beyond the stage.

The Improv Workshop is a four-week program (one session per week) designed to help participants think on their feet, spark creativity, and have fun in a supportive group setting. Through games, exercises, and scene work inspired by The Second City tradition, participants will explore spontaneity, storytelling, and collaboration. Whether you’re an experienced performer or stepping into improv for the very first time, this workshop offers a chance to stretch your imagination, laugh out loud, and discover new ways of expressing yourself.
