Volunteer at BALANCE

“Those who bring sunshine to the lives of others cannot keep it from themselves.” – James Matthew Barrie

BALANCE provides innovative, inclusive, community-oriented programming and partnerships to our adult participants who are living with vision loss. We provide an opportunity for volunteers to obtain personal growth, develop communication skills, learn new guiding and technology skills and develop personal connections. Through your involvement as a volunteer, BALANCE can expand our contact and instruction with our participants.

Becoming a volunteer

Volunteer assignments are flexible to your availability. Contact our Volunteer Coordinator today and we will match you with an opportunity that meets your personal goals. Certain roles will require a police check.

Some of the volunteer opportunities we are currently offering are:

  • Sight on Site: (one on one sighted assistance with tasks, practicing technology skills)
  • Group programs assistant (knitting, iPhone, yoga and other classes)
  • Event volunteering: one-time assistance at major BALANCE events
