November 4, 2025BALANCE is proud to present "Imagine That!", a four-week improv workshop led by acclaimed actor, educator, and self-defense instructor, Chris James.
Chris James is a professional actor and educator with over 20 years of experience in theatre, television, film, and voice performance. Trained through The Second City’s IFA track, he brings a unique blend of artistry and teaching expertise to every workshop. With a background in movement, dance, and stage combat, Chris helps participants connect body, voice, and imagination in dynamic ways. His workshops are known for being both playful and practical—building confidence, creativity, and collaboration skills that extend far beyond the stage.
The Improv Workshop is a four-week program (one session per week) designed to help participants think on their feet, spark creativity, and have fun in a supportive group setting. Through games, exercises, and scene work inspired by The Second City tradition, participants will explore spontaneity, storytelling, and collaboration. Whether you’re an experienced performer or stepping into improv for the very first time, this workshop offers a chance to stretch your imagination, laugh out loud, and discover new ways of expressing yourself.

What to bring: Yoga mat for Sunday’s session (affordable mats available at Dollarama for $5)

November 7, 2025In partnership with United Boxing Club and led once again by the incomparable Savoy Howe of Toronto Newsgirls Boxing Club, this six-week program is taking things to the next level — real ring, real gear, real grit. We’re bringing everything you loved from Boxing 101 — grounding, offense, defense, and footwork — and moving it into a fully equipped boxing gym!
You’ll continue to develop your boxing skills, sharpen your footwork, and throw punch combos with confidence — all while creating your own unique boxing persona in a welcoming, safe, and empowering environment.
Savoy is back to coach, inspire, and maybe even take a few jabs from your improved uppercut!
