    BALANCE for Blind Adults is excited to announce that our Strength & Stability classes are continuing this April and May with a new day and time!

    Starting April 1, 2025, classes will take place every Tuesday from 1:00 – 2:00 PM at our new location:

    West Neighbourhood House – Lounge A

    These classes are designed to help improve balance, build strength, and support overall mobility in a welcoming and supportive environment.

    10 weeks | No cost to participate

    Looking for a space to connect, reflect, and share in a supportive setting? Join us this summer for our virtual Sharing Space Support Group with Lisa. This group is for adults living with vision loss who want to explore personal growth, emotions, and everyday challenges through weekly conversation.

    Facilitated by Lisa, a trained professional with lived experience of blindness, the group offers a safe, confidential space to be heard and supported.

    Schedule Overview
    Tuesdays, from September 9th to November 11th
    Time: 1:30 PM – 3:30 PM
    Format: Online via Zoom

    • Guided conversations
    • Peer support and shared experiences

    BALANCE for Blind Adults is excited to offer the final self-defence workshop of 2025, designed specially for you. In a supportive and accessible environment, you'll learn techniques to improve your safety, awareness, and confidence.

    What to bring: Yoga mat for Sunday’s session (affordable mats available at Dollarama for $5)
    Note: Participants must attend all sessions.

    Round 2: The Knockout Collective

    In partnership with United Boxing Club and led once again by the incomparable Savoy Howe of Toronto Newsgirls Boxing Club, this six-week program is taking things to the next level — real ring, real gear, real grit. We’re bringing everything you loved from Boxing 101 — grounding, offense, defense, and footwork — and moving it into a fully equipped boxing gym!

    You’ll continue to develop your boxing skills, sharpen your footwork, and throw punch combos with confidence — all while creating your own unique boxing persona in a welcoming, safe, and empowering environment.

    Savoy is back to coach, inspire, and maybe even take a few jabs from your improved uppercut!

    Why join Round 2?

    • A rare opportunity to train in a real boxing gym
    • Deepen your skills and boost your fitness
    • Build strength, confidence, and community
    • Be part of a trailblazing program that’s putting blind boxing on the map

    What to Bring:

    • Comfortable workout clothes

    Join us for a supportive Mental Health Pop-Up focused on navigating the emotional ups and downs of the holiday season Whether you’re missing someone, spending it solo, or just feeling a bit overwhelmed, this space is here for you — no pressure, just support. 

    Together, we'll explore:  

    • How to plan for Holidays 
    • Ways to create your own version of the holidays 
    • Coping strategies to help manage stress, sadness, or anxiety 
    • A personal self-care checklist 
    • How to build a crisis contact list (people and resources you can rely on)
