Mental Health Pop-Up Session: "Asking for Help"

    October 22, 2025

Does asking for help feel uncomfortable or difficult? Do you sometimes worry that you are going to be a bother or a burden if you ask for help? Do you question your level of independence if you ask for help?

In this workshop we will unpack why it can feel so challenging to ask for help when living with partial sight or blindness.

    • Learn the differences between independence, dependence and inter-dependence.
    • Understand the social narratives that create barriers to asking for help
    • Build communication skills and strategies to ask for help
    • Experience lived-experience scenarios of what it is like to ask for help

At the end of this workshop we hope that you will feel that asking for help is okay.
