    Build your strength and embrace the joy of movement! BALANCE is pleased to once again partner with VIBE Arts to provide our in-demand Musical Theatre Movement Workshop.

    Join us for 60 minutes of toe-tapping, moving, and grooving in a dance-based fitness class! We will work every major muscle group and allow for modifications for all levels and abilities. Classic tunes with a musical theatre theme will bring you and your muscles back in time as we show tune it up together!

    The 10-week movement workshop will run Monday afternoons from 1:30 pm-2:30 pm, starting March 18th until June 10th (with no classes on following Mondays: Easter Monday, April 1st, April 22nd and Victoria Day long weekend on May 20th) at West Neighbourhood House located at 248 Ossington Avenue (Ossington & Dundas).     This 7-week program caters exclusively to BALANCE clients.  Social Worker and BALANCE counsellor Melanie Marsden facilitates the workshop series. Melanie specializes in intersecting identities in counselling and is an experienced counsellor with lived experience of sight loss.  In this workshop, participants will learn fundamental mental health skills tailored to individuals with visual disabilities. Each 2-hour workshop builds on the next, covering topics such as understanding stress, mindfulness, reframing negative thoughts, assertiveness, and resilience.

    We are thrilled to announce our 40th Anniversary Annual General Meeting, scheduled for June 19, 2024. This year's meeting will be held both in person at Miles Nadal Jewish Community Centre Conference Room (Room 318), and via Zoom to accommodate our amazing and accomplished guest speaker, and all attendees unable to attend in person. Both types of attendance require prior registration, please.

    This year, we are absolutely thrilled to have Jason Romero as our guest speaker, with his talk "Challenge to Change".

    This is an authentic, thought and emotion provoking saga that will inspire you to overcome, grow and carry-on. Jason will join us remotely on Zoom.
